The school day
- The school day runs from 08:45 until 15:15, which equates to 32.5 hours of education a week.
- The school gates open at 08:40 and it is extremely important that your child is in their classroom by 08:45 ready for registration.
Arriving at school and collecting from school
- Children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 must be brought to their classroom door in the morning and collected from their classroom door after school by an adult.
- Children in Key Stage 2 need to enter school through the playground. Children should say goodbye to their adults on the playground and then walk down to the Key Stage 2 building unaccompanied. At the end of the school day, children in years 3&4 must be collected by an adult. Children in Year 5&6 are allowed to walk home alone once a consent letter has been completed.

Important dates
Important dates for parents are circulated in advance and can be viewed on our website under ‘News and Dates’.
Stay and Read
We love reading at Lings Primary! We have ‘Stay and Read’ sessions for parents every Friday morning from 8:40-8:50am, where parents can come into the classroom with their child to share a book.
Attendance
It is really important that our children come to school every day, unless they are unwell. When children have days off school it means they miss learning and they miss spending time with their friends and building connections too. Each school day presents a chance to learn something new, spark curiosity and build skills that will shape your child’s future.
Safeguarding, Inclusion and Family Support
We have a team of staff dedicated to safeguarding, inclusion and family support. The team work together with families and children to overcome barriers and work through problems to make sure that our children feel happy and safe. You will see the team out on the playground before and after school every day.
We look forward to working in partnership with you.
