Attendance is a priority at Lings Primary School, we believe that excellent attendance and punctuality leads to better outcomes for pupils.
- The school day runs from 08:45 until 15:15 which collates to 32.5 hours of education a week.
- The school gates open at 08:40am and it is extremely important that your child is in their classroom by 08:45am ready for registration.
Good attendance is essential if we are to give our children the best possible chance of success. Attending school on a regular basis is the key to your child doing well at school. It will set them up with good routines for later life and the working world, as well as giving them the opportunity to:
- Make friends and feel included
- Learn new things and develop skills
- Increase their confidence and self esteem
- Improve social skills and achieve their potential
If your child is unwell and cannot attend school, you must inform the school by 9:00am at the latest. You can inform us in person, via email to
When leaving your message please ensure you include your child’s name, class and reason for absence including symptoms of illness.
We ask that wherever possible medical appointments are made outside of school hours. If your child does have to be absent due to a medical appointment, please inform the office prior to the appointment.
